Team Light Skin

A polupar saying in my part of the world goes, 'One man's meat is another man's poison'. Apparently, that goes for men and women too. Some men are what they now call #teamlightskin, and same goes for women.

I mean, whereas some white people would pay up to $100 in a beauty shop to get a tan in a place like US, down here others are paying equally exorbitant prices for skin-bleaching creams. It is under this premise that Nneka, a dark-skinned girl decided she wanted to be light-skinned.

According to her, she bought the best skin-bleaching cream, "the type that bleaches everywhere including the knuckles". She also mentioned that you would never know she was dark just by looking at her because she has used her bleaching cream for very long. I was tempted to ask her the colour of her butt crack but I'm a gentle man and there are certain things a gentleman doesn't ask even if his life depended on it.

Well, let us get to the crux of the matter, shall we? Nneka attracted her type of man, John - rich, young, tall, dark-skinned gentleman. Believe it or not, John also met his ideal woman - tall, young, beautiful and most importantly, light-skinned, or so he thinks. The two started dating and their relationship has been like an 80's romantic movie from MGM with all the colours.

Now, the problem: John has told Nneka many times how he just loves her light skin and how that is going to help his unborn children have at least a shade lighter than him. John has just proposed to Nneka and she said yes! However, she wants to know if her light skin would remain intact when she is pregnant. Secondly, she wants to know if there is any way the bleaching cream she has used for so long can help her unborn children to also have light skin!

Well, I'm neither a doctor nor a geneticist so I decided I should put it out here to get your opinions. What do you think? 😁😁😁😁😁
