Small Creators are screwed...

For a channel to be approved for monetization, 4000 hours of watch time (240,00 views for a 1 minute video) and 1000 subscribers are required in the past 12 months.

Content creators have been given 30 days to reach these monetization thresholds (having had their privileges evoked) or risk YTP termination. I believe this gives content creators, especially small Youtube Channels more of an incentive to move to Steemit.

It's a very backwards move from Youtube and I do believe that the Steem blockchain is the future of sharing ideas. The blockchain technology means that it is immutable and the censorship and flagging that has devastated many Youtubers is a reason to transition.

If Youtube doesn't get its act together soon, it has everything to lose and I believe its days are indeed limited. I don't think Youtube realises the potential repercussions of its recent actions and it'd be sad to see such a functional platform that has given many content creators a job to fade in such a way.
