Tron - The Next Big Coin?

maxresdefault.jpg

Since early December, when the value and popularity of Bitcoin boomed, everyone is looking for the "next big thing" on the cryptocurrency market. Now that Bitcoin has fallen a bit and things are not looking up for it, people are turning their heads towards the large, mostly-untapped market of altcoins. Ripple is one example that saw the highest rise in price during last year, ending 2017 with a 36,018% increase in price. If you would have invested $100 in Ripple this time last year, you would likely have had over $35,000.
Sadly, you cannot go back in time to invest into Ripple, but you can always invest in the next big thing, the next Ripple or even the next Bitcoin. Tron (TRX), also called Tronix, is a new cryptocurrency created by Justin Sun, an Asian Forbes 30 Under 30 member. Its main goal is to create a safer, privacy-oriented system across the internet for entertainment websites and video games. The reasoning behind this is that the current internet system is dominated by the big companies such as Apple, Microsoft, Google and Amazon -- every new online service, video game or online store is stored on their servers for cheap prices or even for free, as long as they can collect their customers' data for advertising purposes.

An example of how Tron can make life easier when paying for your entertainment is their vision of one single currency across all mobile games. Right now, if you play multiple mobile games, each of them have different currencies stored across different servers which need to be purchased separately. With Tron replacing all of these currencies, you could buy Tron online then use it across all games without having to abandon your paid currency whenever you get bored of a game.
Technical talk aside, why should you buy Tron? Right now, Tron sits at around 10 cents per coin, and it has almost tripled in value since last year. This increase is without the support of any major exchange (Coinbase, Bittrex, Poloniex) and barely days before the code was made open-source for everyone to look over. If that wasn't convincing enough, the creator Justin Sun is announcing new partnerships almost daily via Twitter, with some of the biggest names being NASDAQ-listed companies and Game.com, a popular online game platform, especially in Asia. In addition to the partnerships, Sun has stated that at least 12 new exchanges will support Tron trading by the end of Q1 2018, with more coming during the rest of the year.
Another reason for buying the coin is the dedication of the team behind it. Despite being a new coin which is just beginning to show its true potential, a game based on it has already launched and is making a lot of buzz in Asia: Tron Dogs. This game is based on the popular Cryptokitties game, which saw millions of dollars worth of Ethereum invested into it. The game involves buying, trading and breeding randomly-generated digital dogs, which can then be sold for a profit.

Because Tron is not supported by any major exchange at the moment, the buying process is not as simple as buying Bitcoin or Litecoin with your bank account. However, this is only a testament of its untapped potential: if you buy it while it is still undiscovered, you will become rich once buying it is as easy as going to an ATM. The easiest way to buy Tron is to buy Ethereum (ETH) using your bank account or credit card from any of the major exchanges (Coinbase is recommended). After the purchase has gone through, make an account on Binance and transfer the Ethereum from your Coinbase wallet to your Binance wallet. After that, use the transferred Ethereum to purchase Tron.
For security and convenience reasons, it's recommended to transfer your Tron to an actual wallet on your hard disk, as exchanges can be hacked, can close down or can run maintenance on wallets, causing currency to be temporarily unavailable, which can be catastrophic if it causes you to miss on selling on a profit.
Sadly, for those with powerful computers that wanted to find a new currency to mine, Tron cannot be mined, as there exists a set amount of Tron in circulation. If you really want to get into Tron, however, there are certain mining pools that make you mine different currencies which you can then transfer to unminable coins such as Tron for payout. Additionally, you could always mine Ethereum and use it on Binance in order to buy Tron, effectively cutting the middleman.
All in all, Tron is the next big thing in the crypto world. From a promising vision of a privacy-oriented internet to an enthusiastic and hard-working creator to a small buy-in price that will undoubtedly surge once it becomes a household name, Tron is an all-around powerful coin that will reward early adopters.
