Homemade Chicken & Noodles

Hello steemits, the homemade chicken and noodles that I made the other day was absolutely delicious.  I wanted to share this recipe with you.  I hope you will try this recipe.  My better half loves homemade chicken & noodles, so I made him some for supper the other day.

Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breasts or 1 pound of chicken
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1/2 cup of celery
  • 1/2 cup of carrots
  • 6 cups of water
  • 6 bouillon cups
  • 2 cups of homemade noodles ( or you can you store bought noodles)
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 2 tbsp of cornstarh
  • 2 tbsp of water
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric (optional)

Directions

Using a large pot, cook the 2 chicken breast with the 6 cups of water on medium heat.

While the chicken is cooking, dice up the onion, celery, and carrots on a cutting board.

When the chicken is fully cooked, chop it up into cubes. Keep the water that the chicken was cooked in.  If you have to get some of the chicken residue out of the pan, you can use a strainer to get it out.

In the pot with the water put 6 bouillon cubes, celery, onions, carrots, and chicken cubes.  Put the cornstarch in a cup and use the 2 tablespoons of water and mix it until it is smooth.   Add the cornstarch to the soup and stir.  Then add the spices, salt, pepper, basil, and turmeric.  Cook on medium heat for about 10 minutes.  Slowly add  the homemade noodles just a few at a time, this will keep the noodles from sticking together.  Stir occasionally until all the noodles are added, turn the heat down to low heat. If you need the recipe for the homemade noodles you can check out my last post, I did a post on how to make the homemade noodles.  When the noodles are fully cooked, the soup is ready to serve.

I hope you enjoyed this recipe.  If you like my post please feel free to follow me @christir
