A LORRY ACCIDENT I EXPERIENCE RECENTLY

During the last night, I was involved in a lorry accident on iyana-paja to igando road, and I was so alarmed by my experience that for many weeks I swore I would never travel by lorry again.

How the Happened

We left iyana-paja lorry park at seven o’clock in the night. The lorry on which I was travelling was quite heavily laden. Several market women were carrying goods out to ikotun for the night market and their loads were piled into the trailer at the back. For the first fifty kilometers or so, the journey was uneventful, with fine weather, little traffic and a good straight road in front of us. That was probably the reason for our driver’s over-confidence and our later coming grief.
At ikotun, the market women alighted and claimed their loads from the trailer, but many more women, who had already done their marketing in the evening, clamoured to take their places and began to pile on board the suppliers of yam, plantains and fruits they had bought. With a reckless disregard for the laws concerning overloading, the driver encouraged his mate to crowd as many of the women on board as he could and to pile the trailer high with their farm produce. He himself went off to a nearby chop-bar for a quick meal of steward, fufu and probably something to quench his thirst as well which I followed him to quench mine as well.
Waw, as soon as we are back from the chop bar the lorry was double with more load because it was the only lorry at the parkand many more traders were already ready to go home.
Well I wasn't bother much because I was sitting next to the driver at the front sit and not in the lorry like the traders but I knew there was going to be an accident.
We started the jorney as we down slowly to ikotun where the accident happened.
As we get to ikotun round about which they called old garage the lorry got a flat Tyre due to the load but no one knew. After turning around the round about now moving to igando the road was so free which makes the driver speed up to 110m/s without knowing he had got a flat tyre at the back which was on the side where I was sitting (on the left side).
Due to this speed with a flat tyre the lorry was bent which makes something hook the tyre then lose it up from the lorry.
As the lorry was getting more bent I quickly noticed then wanted to check what makes it bent so I take a look through the window with my head out of the lorry.
Immediately I saw it the tyre was already loosen and now it's falling side ways which I fell out through the window which I injured and now in big danger because the lorry is gonna fall on me.
While expecting the lorry to fall on me I woke up and realized it was just a dream and actually fell off from my bed but wish I could go back to see what will happen to the traders in the lorry
