What's Up Dtube?
I finally got around to watching the latest Star Wars film and I haven't had a chance to give my review on it. I know it is a bit controversial with certain aspects but overall the movie was okay. There were some issues I had with movie and some of the cinematic direction but it was still enjoyable.
What do I mean?
So if you have seen any Marvel movie within the last decade, you kinda know what to expect. Jokes, meta moments, and over the top action make it essentially its own genre. So what happens when you try to implement that into an established franchise like Star Wars? Well, something awkward I would say. You could argue that the movies are trying more and more to cater to younger audiences and attempt to keep up with the times but I think with its history of serious tone movies, I think this movie kind of felt awkward watching. What do you think?

The Poe Dameron prank phone call scene, Luke tossing his lightsaber scene and the scene where he milks the space cow, say everything about the direction of Star Wars.
I for one dont like it.
Exactly, joke wasn't bad per say but for Star Wars, yes. The whole milk scene I know relates to the constant Blue Milk reference but so misplaced, just didn't belong.
Some of the jokes and were appropriate and I could see why that could be used like Poe's prank phone call. It helped push the story along but it just seemed like they put too many of the jokes in there. There are moments when they worked but some that were just placed in there because someone thought it would be great.
I agree mate. From an old school SWars fan, I would take anything over nothing, but this was certainly a change in direction. I still had fun though :)

ppl will hate this but I don't like Star Wars. I tried watching the empire strikes back like 4 times and failed. Couldn't make it halfway.
