Snow Day Saturday
We finally have some winter weather here in California, so I thought I would post some snow pictures! We have been getting a rain/snow mix the past few days, but last night it turned to a heavy snow in the foothills. It had been slushing at my girlfriends house all day, so when I went outside after dark I was surprised to see 6 inches of fresh powder covering everything, including her very steep driveway! Luckily I drove my truck, which has four wheel drive, but it was going to be fun getting out and driving home. I put the truck in 4 low and started to creep down the driveway, making sure to not hit the breaks. I made it about 3/4 of the way down before we started sliding! I decided to turn towards the ditch and bank on the right side, instead of the trees on the other, told my dog to hold on, and slid to a stop in the ditch. We weren't going too fast, so everyone was ok, truck included. After restarting the truck we were able to get back on the road and make it down the rest of the driveway. The remaining 10 miles home was slow going with white out blizzard conditions--I was definitely getting tunnel vision, and my fogged windshield made it hard to see! But we made it home safe!

Smart dogs!
