Camping at Hot Creek
Every spring we wait for our local mountain passes to open so we can take a trip to the Eastern Sierras. Sonora Pass had opened in early June, so we packed up the van and headed out toward Mammoth and Hot Creek.
Hot water bubbles up from underground at certain spots in the creek, creating steam. Signs around the hot section of the creek warn that swimming is not allowed because it is too hot, but we did see people getting in at certain cooler areas.
My girlfriend and I bathed downstream the next morning in a spot that was pleasantly warm the year before, but was now ice cold from the snow melt.
LunchBox hunting lizards at one of the camp spots.
Second camp spot not far from the creek.
I love that hot creek camping spot! Wait, did you get a drone?
I have a poor mans drone--climb things, take pictures!
