Many A time, we accidentally and carelessly use certain English words and expressions that have meanings different from what we meant to say.....

Incidentally, those who (use something the wrong way) these words do not know better, unless they (trip while walking/make a mistake) on the correct meaning as pointed out here. Below are the example of such words✌

1. Swag: This does not mean some working or posing in order to be admired. It mean; Stolen goods. clothe hung above a window in decorative folds. Flowers carved into walls as decoration

2. Packer(noun): This is not the sounding the same as/equal to a dust-pan, but means a person, machine or company that put food, goods etc. into containers o be sold or sent to somebody.

3. Blackmail (noun, verb): This is not the same as spoken lies (hurting a friend) which is meant to damage somebody's reputation.. It is the use of threatening/making scared to steal (by threatening) money from someone in secret.

4. Go-slow (noun): This is not the same as a traffic jam or a hold-up(delay) It is a protest that workers make by doing their work more slowly than usual.

5. Sleeping partner(noun): This does not refer to the person one sleep with. It means a person who has put money into a business company but is not actually involved in running it.

6. Double date(noun, verb): This does not mean a girl/boy dating two people at the same time/together. It means two couples (i.e four people) going out together on a date.
