You know Steem is about to go Mainstream when your mum joins in!

Well, I have been using crypto for quite a while now and somehow people always looked at me like a weirdo when I talked about it. Well not anymore! with the Bitcoin Price Boom and Steemit popularity rise we are suddenly the cools kids in school now.

A lot of people are now interested in cryptocurrencies but they still don’t know how to use them, I get asked about bitcoin almost every day, people even offer me their money so that I can invest it for them. But Steemit changes all of these, Steemit is very simple to use, people are using Blockchain technology without knowing it.

For me, today has been a ground breaking moment.

My mum lives every day with a chronic illness, she spends a lot of her time at home and working from her computer. I have told her to join Steemit as it could be therapeutic to blog and write about her life and what she is going through. She also finds comfort in the thousands of followers she has on Facebook that are suffering too. Today, she joined Steemit and started posting!

The future of Steemit

Steemit is growing at an incredible pace, a lot of “regular people” (not geeks) are joining and I feel moved that some people are using this platform to alleviate some of their struggles. If you take a look at the #venezuela tag you will see that thousends of Venezuelans have joined Steemit and are receiving rewards that can help them buy food and medicines.

Steemit is not about making a quick buck. It is about changing the way social media works and using Blockchain technology to impact the life of real people around globe.
