Peace

in #esteem6 years ago

This year, I'm taking a lot of things slowly. I'm currently reading my second book, John Grisham's The Appeal. Normally, I would be on my fifth or sixth by now. I write for myself more too. Finally gave up on trying to impress and I'm glad. The best part is that it's giving me a different kind of peace. I just can't explain it. It's so cool and beautiful. I feel God more too.

There's this prayer I culled from a divine mercy prayer book. It defines so many things I do not know how to articulate. I don't know how often you pray, but you can say it with me if you want to.

‘O God of compassion, you alone can justify me and you will never reject me when I, contrite, approach your merciful heart, where no one has ever been refused, even if he were the greatest sinner. For your son assured me: sooner would heaven and earth turn into nothingness than would my mercy fail to embrace a trusting soul.

Jesus, friend of a lonely heart, you are my heaven. You are my peace. You are my salvation. You are my serenity in moments of struggle and amidst an ocean of doubts. You are the bright ray that lightens up the part of my life. You are everything to a lonely soul. You understand the soul even though it remains silent. You know my weaknesses and like a good physician, you comfort and heal, sparing me sufferings – expert that you are.

O Jesus, eternal God, I thank you for your countless graces and blessings. Let every beat of my heart be a new hymn of thanksgiving to you. O God, let every drop of my blood circulate for you, Lord. My soul is one hymn in adoration to your mercy. I love you God, for yourself alone.'
Amen.

I hope this brightens your day today. I hope you find peace.
