Tips for Act As If You Had Feeling So Happy

Sometimes, when you are dealing with difficult times and you feel sad, depressed or even just plain depressed, it can seem like there is no hope. This is when you might find some people who tell you that you will never get over this feeling and that there is nothing that you can do to change it. While there is nothing that can be done to make anyone feel better who is in a tough time, sometimes it might help to try and act as if you felt happy instead of sad. There are a number of ways that this might help you. Here are some things that you can try:


Learn Healthy Coping Skills. Sometimes, it might help to use some coping skills in order to help you deal with the discomfort and anger that are sometimes associated with dealing with difficult feelings. There are times when you might find that simply knowing how to effectively handle difficult emotions and coping skills can do wonders for someone. Learning some of the techniques that are available can also help you feel better about yourself and about life in general. When you are ready, consider taking a course to learn some healthy coping skills.

Learn to Express Yourself Appropriately. It is very important that you understand that sometimes, you need to learn to express your emotions in a way that is healthy and does not hurt other people. There are times when you might find that it is helpful to simply turn the volume down on the television or radio when you are feeling depressed or angry. While these things might make you feel better, in the long run, you will not likely benefit from using unhealthy coping skills that can ultimately make you feel worse.

Make it a point to Act As If You Were Feeling Very Positive. The second step is to make it a point to really feel your emotions. There are many times when you might find that it is helpful to simply close your eyes and pretend that you are in an extremely happy, carefree, joyful place. By doing so, you can get into the mindset of someone who is capable of handling very difficult emotions. While this might seem like a good idea at first, in the end, it can actually be counterproductive when you are trying to deal with very uncomfortable emotions.

Look at Your Feelings and Act As If They Are True. The third step involves understanding that sometimes, feelings are simply not that big of an issue. At times, you might find that it is actually easier to simply change your mind than to confront those feelings head-on. In these situations, it can often be more beneficial to simply turn the negative feelings around and pretend as if they were positives. In order to do this, you will need to turn off all thoughts about the situation that you are dealing with so that you can more easily deal with them head-on.

Learn How to Feel Good: While this might sound somewhat strange when you consider how easy it would be to simply convince yourself that things are going to be fine, you have to realize that this is an incredibly difficult task to do. In many cases, you will find that there are times when it is better to allow your feelings to guide you rather than forcing them. If you simply try to feel bad about things and expect that they will magically change, you might find that you end up getting even angrier.

Realize That You Can Act Happy: One of the most difficult aspects about dealing with difficult feelings is that they often feel very much like they are controlling you rather than letting you control them. In order to keep from feeling angry and frustrated, it will often help to simply acknowledge those feelings. This will help to keep the anger in check and ensure that you are able to feel happy again. If you are able to acknowledge your feelings, and make the decision to feel happy again, you will find that you will not be in a hurry to anger them any more. When you are able to act happy, instead of angry, you will find that you will get things back in control.


Act As If You Were at Home: The last thing that you will want to do when you are trying to figure out how to act when you feel happy is to simply go back to the place where you fell ill. Instead, take the time to visit with friends and family members that you have not seen in a long time. Find some real fun, and make sure that you are getting out and having fun. If you are able to maintain this up until the point that you feel well again, you will find that you can actually take care of yourself much better this time around. Act as if you were once well, and you will find that you are better able to get through the tough times.
