When I set monthly goals for myself, it makes me feel good. I also like that I am giving myself something to strive for. In life you sometimes need a little push to get moving forward. Why not make it a goal to get up each day by a certain amount. You can even do this every single morning.


Always try to set monthly goals in the beginning of every month. Because a month is not a long period of time, see that monthly goals actually work for you. Maybe it feels more manageable. Also, realize that when setting a goal that will take a while to accomplish, know that just having to focus on it for an extended period of time will be difficult. You need to break it up into smaller accomplishments to help keep you motivated.

Here are some good "how to" monthly goal-setting ideas: Set a "to do" list every day. If you write it down, you can review it and take action every day to achieve it. The first few steps of creating your to do list is always the most difficult part; you have to make sure that you have enough to get done.

If you are trying to achieve 3 goals per year, write down those goals and write a summary of your daily activities for each goal. Then, after you have done this for the year, you can create a to do list for each goal. Use your summary as a guide for your daily actions. Finally, a key component of goal-setting is the "big picture." Your "friend" who set up your goals may have visions of financial abundance, amazing travel experiences, having a brand new home in the hills, and so on. But, they also have a clear vision for their life. It does take time to accomplish all of these things but, if you have a clear vision for your life in general, you will be more motivated to work hard to accomplish your goals.


In closing, you do not have to wait for the future to accomplish your goals. In fact, the sooner you start, the sooner you will achieve your goals. Remember, your goals are in your mind map. So, set your goals and cultivate happiness.
