Discovering The Power Of Prayer and Experiencing God

"Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unreachable things you do not know."

Jeremiah 33:3

Prayer is the window that God has placed in the walls of our world. Leave it shut and the world is a cold, dark house. But throw back the curtains and see His light. Open the window and and hear His voice. Open the window of prayer and invoke the presence of God in your world.

Could it be the reason many who follow Jesus don't diligently seek God is because they don't believe they are accomplishing anything when they pray? The truth that has changed my perspective and motivation on prayer was that something happens when we pray that doesn't happen if I don't. Therefore, if I fail to pray today, something will go undone in God's kingdom plans for me and those I am praying for. When I engage God in prayer, it ignites His kingdom plans to be accomplished! Prayer initiates the redemptive work of the Holy Spirit.

Our problem is that we pray and then never relate anything that happens to our praying. After you pray, the greatest simple thing you need to do is turn on your spiritual concentration. When you pray in a direction, immediately anticipate the activity of God in answer to your prayer. I gind this all the way through Scripture; when God's people prayed, He responded.

"Ah Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outreched arm. Nothing is too hard for you."

Jeremiah 32:17

Prayer is the only entry way into genuine self-knowledge. Itbis also the main way we experience deep change - the reordering of our loves. Prayer is how God gives us so many of the unimaginable things he has for us. Indeed, prayer makes it safe for God to give us many of the things we most desire. It is the way we know Gid, the way we finally treat God as God. Prayer is simply the key to everything we need to do and be in life.

I've always believed in the power of prayer. One prayer can accomplish more than a thousand plans. That isn't a magic formula, but it's an idea that if you pray, keep rlpraying and then praying some more. Prayer is the rope that pulls God and man together. But it doesn't pull God down to us: It pulls us up to Him.

"Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective."

James 5:16
