Carl - The Little Homesteader
The key to a successful homestead does not only lie on being able to grow your own food but on other skills as well.
Today I thought that it would be fun to share a glimpse into the mind of carl. Carl has a lot of questions about chicken. Some questions are good ones and others just have to make you smile, like: what do chickens eat? Does chickens have teeth? Or do they fly high like birds? :)
Carl really loves chickens and ducks. He feed them, water them and pet them, and that's what he did early this morning. As you can see, Carl really enjoyed feeding those chickens.
If you're interested in homesteading or already raising animals, vegetables, and herbs on your property and you have an opportunity to involve your children in the work, I think it is a great thing. They are getting involved in the community and also learning the value of hard work.
Keep in mind that learning these skills will take time, patience and perseverance and not all of these skills are applicable to certain situations.
Hopefully, though, you'll be able to pick up some great ideas that will inspire you and get you started.
