Healthy Fried Wontons
Preperation Period: 20 minutes
Cooking Period: 25 minutes
Total Cooking Period: 45 minutes
Can make up to: 25 servings
INGREDIENTS
twenty-five wonton wrappers
three tbsp plain flour
oil for deep-frying
For your Stuffing
one tbsp oil
one cup finely chopped cabbage
quarter cup finely chopped spring onions whites
half cup grated carrot
half cup bean sprouts
half cup boiled noodles
one tsp soy sauce
salt to your preference
PROCESS
For your stuffing:
Heaten up the oil in a wok / kadhai on a high flame until it smokes.
Put the cabbage, spring onion whites, carrots, bean sprouts and sauté on a high flame for two to three minutes.
Put the noodles, soya sauce and salt and toss well. Keep aside.
PROCEDURE:
Mix the plain flour with quarter cup of water in a bowl, blend well and keep aside.
Put a wonton wrapper on a clean, flat surface.
Put a little stuffing in the centre, apply a little flour paste along the edges and fold over to make a semi-circle. Bring the ends together and press well.
Do it again with the remaining wrappers and stuffing to make twenty four more wontons.
Heaten up the oil in a kadhai and deep-fry, a few wontons at a time, until they turn golden brown in colour from all the sides.
Serve hot with sauce.
