MY DESIGN - LOGO DESIGN PROPOSAL FOR VDRIFT

Hello everyone, it’s another great day today, so much great things happening around and I hope we are having a wonderful week ahead. Today, I will be showing the processes I took to create this logo design proposal for VDrift.

BRIEF OVERVIEW
Before we start, I will like to quickly give a brief overview about this design. I came across VDrift which is an open source cross platform drift style racing game and I decided to jump on board and create this logo design. I love clean and non-complicated logo designs and I wanted to create a logo design that looks clean and sleek and not complicated but at the same time portraying VDrift. So I started thinking out ideas and concepts, then i decided to jump into photoshop and let my creativity run wild. I finally came up with an idea sketch and I jumped into adobe illustrator and started creating the logo based on my idea sketch.

Now to the fun part;

STEP 1
It all started with thinking out ideas in my head and sketching the idea in photoshop.

STEP 2
Next, I jumped over to illustrator to start the logo design. I started with a single letter V

STEP 3
Next I converted the letter “V” to vector shape

STEP 4
After that, I reduced one side of the V shape to match my idea sketch and changed the colour to blue.

STEP 5
Next, I drew a new shape based on my sketch and placed it on the area I wanted it

STEP 6
Next, I drew the other shape based on my sketch and placed it where I wanted it

STEP 7
Next, I made the edges of the shapes rounded to give it a sleek and curvy look

STEP 8
After that, I typed in the word DRIFT and placed it at the spot I wanted it

STEP 9
Next, I converted the text to vector shapes

STEP 10
After that, I made the edges to be rounded as well and changed the colour to blue

STEP 11
After I was done with illustrator, I copied over the logo to photoshop to add background variations and final export.

STEP 12
And that is how I created the logo design proposal for VDrift.

CONCLUSION
This logo design proposal was just pure creativity, there was no rule behind the design, I just wanted to create something that looks clean and sleek and also portrays VDrift.
