Wealth Files #3 - Committed to being Rich!
Hi guys! It's been a while since I posted on my series regarding Wealth Files. These are from the book of T. Harv Eker Secrets of the Millionaire Mind. These Files are compilation of the ways Rich people think differently from Poor people. I'm not here to discriminate anyone, I'm just here to share you what I have learned and what I'm personally struggling with in terms of my thinking. I have read a lot of financial, motivational books and almost all of them would tell that being Rich is a Mind game. We need to control our mind and our way of thinking, because these are the elements that would make or break us.
Before we start analyzing the third Wealth Files, let us first recognize the meaning of being Committed
loyal and willing to give time and energy to something that you believe in.
Cambridge Dictionary
Eker believed that Rich people are committed to being Rich, Poor people want to be Rich. Can we see a difference here? I think there is a huge, tremendous difference. I believe everybody wants to be rich. I, myself, wanted to be rich! If only as a child I can say, when ask "What do you want to be when you grow up?" I would have answered To be Rich. But you see, Filipinos are not as outspoken as the Westerners. probably, because history taught us, that we were only underdogs of the countries that conquered our land. Moreover, our culture has trained us to be always humble, and so on. The main reason why most of us were stuck in the rat race. Our minds have been programmed to be mediocre. We are educated, almost all Filipinos speak and understand the English language, as compared to other countries in the Asian region. No doubt, we have what it takes to be a first world country. We just don't have the mind for it.
Like I've said you and I wanted to be rich, who doesn't anyway? But why aren't we? Because, as what Eker pointed out we have so many negative files of being rich in our subconscious mind. These negative files are the things we believe is/are wrong with being rich. Here are some examples..
What if I make it and lose it? Then I'll really be a failure.
It's too much work
I could lose my health trying
I could be robbed, My kids might be kidnapped
I'll never know if people would like me for myself or for my money.
It's too much responsibility. I'll have to manage all that money...
These are only a few, I ought there'd be a lot more negative thoughts about money. No doubt, one of the main thoughts about money is that it is the root of all evil. Having that negative thought about money makes, money shy away from us. You see how are you going to attract something, that you feel bad about in the first place. T he universe is even troubled with what we wanted in life, thus having a hard time giving it to us. We wanted to be rich, but we feel that being rich is being greedy. Those two are of opposing sides. So if one believes that logic, then if he becomes rich, then he is greedy isn't he? That's why it is imperative that our thinking, is in the same wave length of what we believe in.
The very reason why we don't get the things that we wanted, is because we don't know what we wanted in the first place. Have you wished for a specific car? Have you experienced when you wanted, let's say a Toyota Fortuner, all of a sudden all the streets are filled with Fortuner. Which makes you wonder, why they are so plenty nowadays. Not knowing that they are that much already, but your focus was not on them previously. Now, wanting that Fortuner is useless, if you are not committed to having that car. You see, we can all want, dream, and wish for everything sky is the limit. But what sets apart to being committed and to wanting is that the first goes hand in hand with action, faith, and determination. The latter is just a mere wishful thinking. Like our infamous Juan Tamad, who lies down on a hammock, under the tree and waits for the fruit to fall on his mouth.
Rich people chose, decided and are determined to get what they wanted. No mountains so high, they cannot reach, because to them failure is not an option. They will become rich or they will try dying.
That thinking my friends is all we need to make all of our dreams come true. Let's start to alleviate our wrong and negative thoughts in our mind. And let's work hand in hand to reach our dreams. You see it's not mere money that I wanted, in the first place. I'd like to be rich not for the money and the lifestyle alone, I would be hypocrite to say i don't like it, the reason I'm striving to become rich in the first place. Another motive is that being rich gives me the freedom to help a lot of people. I truly believe that No man is an Island, therefore it is our responsibility here on earth to give back to other people what we have. When we have the money, we can help all kinds of people from all walks of life. You can give something because you have plenty. Unlike if you don't have the money, your hands are tight.
Let's contemplate for a while, and think of what we really wanted in life. We have different wants and motives. Next, let's write down the negative thoughts about these things that we wanted and, write the positive ones also. Look at both sides, and determine which weighs more. And from there make an action plan to achieve that dream of yours.
Keep the dream alive and commit to that dream. Keep on Steeming!

This is interesting .. but sometimes I am more inclined to the attitude of people with poor obsession with not hellahah. because I see that most people who are rich with commitment are very rewarding. Hopefully my argument is wrong ..
Well it really depends on the person and how his thoughts contribute to his whole being. Like you said rich people are rewarding, which actually negates the notion that they are greedy and so on. I hope I get your argument right :) @nauval
