My Favorite Festival

Celebration of festivals is an act which is done all over the world because it's a celebration of the societal value and people's livelihood. Festivals helps us to build confidence in socializing with other individuals in and outside our locality.

✥ Which festivals are celebrated in your religion, village, city, local area or country?

Festivals are occasions which are celebrated in remembrance of the societal value, people's culture and way of life. On of the most popular festival celebrate in my country is "The New Yam Festival". This festival was celebrated where I live two weeks ago I celebrated mine at home with a lot of eating and drinking which yam was the major food eaten. This festival is celebrated to show how much the people of edor and Nigeria loves yam as a tubber crop, a lot of people in Edor cultivate yam as they ultimate crop.

I am really glad to be from such a country that partakes in cultural activities like this. Another festival that is practiced in Imo state Nigeria, my locality in particular is the "Oji Festival". This festival is a festival which marks the harvest of the colanut, my people value this festival a lot and it is celebrated evey new year to thank God for the prosperous year. They are thirteen communities which celebrate this festival every New year which is 1st of January.

This thirteen communities host this festival turn by turn. The last festival in the Munukwu-Mmanwu. This is is a festival of the masquerade in which a lot of masquerade up to 5000 come out to preform, mainly in Enugu and Anambara state. This festival show the people's love for they culture and way of life.

✥ Which is your favorite festival among all these festivals and why?

The festival I love must is the "New yam festival". The reason I like this festival is because a lot of cultural display are been made. During the New yam festival people from far an near are also allowed to participate in the celebration like joining the cultural dancers to dance.

This is a festival about 😋 eating and drinking in which the people thank God for a successful and bountiful harvest and also for helping them survive without in the absence of the yam during the few months.

I celebrated my last festival with my family and friends at home I visited a lot of my friends and ate a lot of delicious meal 😋 of yam.

Last festival was awesome because we made a lot of food and had a get together with friends and family. I first of all thank God for making this years festival a success 🙏 🙌 Amen.
