"Samovar and Carnations"
Another still life painted during my time studio-sitting for artist-friend Rod Goebel.

”Samovar and Carnations” 30”x36” (#634) oil on canvas by Lee Gordon Seebach
This is a rather large canvas but one advantage of painting still lifes is that the subject doesn't move and the lighting can be controlled. This means I have almost all the time in the world to work such a large area.
A key to a successful still life is the arrangement of the objects into an interesting design. This takes a lot of care and patience.
I hope you enjoy seeing this painting.
More to come,
Lee
