Mr Mantis above was very cooperative with his photo shoot. And, that's super recent! I just found him today hanging out under my door upon arrival home from work. Just chilling there on this cold rainy day. Then back just a couple days ago, I saw these "brains" on my running route....

Lastly, I saw these georgous fall leaves. And, a harvest themed cat cutout. =^_^=

^ Oh, and this year's pumpkin carvings. My cats, Spots & Squirrel, in the door way there. The mantis was under the door on that red step area.

I think your photographs show some real artistic style and talent.

I wonder what you could do if you used a camera and not a phone?

I really appreciate that. I have seriously thought about it, but am slightly intimidated

Why would you be intimidated?

More expensive & I tend to get overly perfectionistic sometimes. I feel i take more natural photos with my phone since it is truly "on the go" or "in the moment"

I see the same "brain" fruits or whatever it is when I visit the nearby forest and had no idea what it is. :)

They're so weird

We call those “brains” monkey balls. I think the tree is called a hedge apple tree. It probably has other names too.

So are they edible @mister-d?

Only if you’re a squirrel. Not for us human types.

I meant edible from a survivalist standpoint.

I didn't know you were a prepper @chelsea88. I did some research and found that the tree also is called an Osage Orange. The fruit itself is not edible but the seeds are edible after you pick them out of the pulpy flesh and remove the slime. Sounds delicious.
