The Place I Am Most Looking Forward To Going To After Lockdown

When I read this weeks question I didn't have to think twice, I knew exactly what I would pick and that is the soccer field. I'm not even picky, it can be a 5 a side field, 7 a side field, indoor soccer field or a full 11 a side field, I just want to get on the pitch and start playing again.

I've played soccer since I was a kid and played in venues all over the city some horrid and some pristine, lol you really have to take what you can get in some cases.

While the league may probably be cancelled this year due to fixture connection and players being unfit, there will probably be plenty of people itching to play socially once the lockdown opens up.

There are various 5 aside, indoor and 7-a side fields across Cape Town that provide social bookings I'd say there are around 10 or more facilities sprinkled around the city which I'm sure will start to fill up once the pent up demand and health scares are reduced.

I can't understate the physical and mental benefits of playing football as it allows you to clear your mind, focus on the game only and also release feel-good hormones in the process.

I've been trying to work out and maintain my fitness during the lockdown but there's nothing like giving yourself a real workout for 60 or 90 minutes where it doesn't feel like you're exercising, but you're having fun.

I really can't wait to start playing with my many football Whatsapp groups that need to be unmuted and reactivated. Lol, I even cleaned out my soccer boots and they're ready for a good workout and smashing some shots in the top corner.

Gosh, just writing this post, gives me real FOMO!
