Each day I go through it having to interact with various people in real life and online and for the most part I've noticed that people have a very low tolerance for anything not going exactly how they want it to go. Somehow we've put in our minds that we can control the outcome of things or how others think and see the world and when things don't go exactly according to plan we get triggered.

I can say this because I was in that same headspace myself and slowly I've tried to rip myself of it. Each day I'm reminded by others that it's not how I want to be, having things that are seemingly innocuous set off a series of rants and emotions that are too me rash and over the top.

If you really cared that much about control wouldn't your response be a little more measured and considerate of the various factors and vantage points that pertain to the situation at hand?

Patience

I know I say this so much and probably sound like an old aunty but its the truth, the internet has given us so many opportunities for instant gratification we know no other way. Anything that is slow, awkward and meandering, that may require a little time, patience, skill, trial and error is shunned.

The modern world is built off the backs of those who took the time to sit and figure something out and work at it for long periods of time and the rest of us benefit from it. Yet we're so zero focused on the next step we can't see any sort of long term plan.

If things arent instant not what we want to the T, we lose our marbles. Do you realise how crazy that sort of demand is? A dash of humility would go a long way in today's society that's for sure.

Faith

Religion has become an outdated concept in the modern world and while I am a born and raised catholic, Yes I was an altar boy once, I am far from the best or most actively practising catholic. I realise religion and tradition has its flaws and how people use it as a crutch and follow the lines literally instead of interpreting the messages and formulating your own ideas.

One thing I can say is that religion does provide us with is the concept of faith. In today's world faith is seen as ignorance and very few people are willing to follow a path and continue on it regardless of no progress signs, no instant rewards and no end in sight.

While many people have beliefs, and you'll hear them virtue signal all about it online and offline, belief isn't all that impressive. People think that having beliefs actually mean something without faith. Beliefs are ideas, wishes and personal truths that we try to control and in many cases force the world to align towards.

This false sense of self and control is why many people are so angry and disappointed with the outcome because they so fixated on getting this specific spot, that 2 cm to the left of the goal post is a death sentence.

Faith is the concept of sticking to your guns, faith has no concepts or preconceived notions, its a plunge into the unknown and the ability to let go of control.

Not sure where I'm really going with this, I just think that in peoples attempt to have control they have long since given up so many control measures. Perhaps that is what is so so upsetting but it's all sitting there housed in the subconscious.
