Arsenal Beat Liverpool In Statement Win
Arsenal faced a stern test against Liverpool at the Emirates and it wasn't going to be a walk in the park, especially off the back of games against Man United and Tottenham, Arsenal couldn't afford to slip up and they didn't, with a statement victory pushing them back to the top of the table.
Arsenal got off to a perfect start when Gabriel Martinelli put them ahead after 58 seconds but Liverpool didn't leave it there and pulled one back through striker Darwin Nunez tapping in a Luiz Diaz cross.
Arsenal then broke the deadlock once again in the first half in stoppage time with Martinelli providing an assist for Saka to tap in. In the second half, Liverpool drew level again through a well-taken finish from substitute Firminho.
Forcing Arsenal in search of a third which they were generously awarded through a very soft penalty. Bukayo Saka's penalty settled a thrilling encounter.
Arsenal faces Leeds next Sunday while having that game sandwiched between two Europa fixtures against FK Bodo and PSV. Both these Europa games should be fairly straight foward giving Arsenal a chance to rest some players and keep them sharp for the Man City game which has been postponed but has to come around eventually
