Will We See E-Sports In The Future Olympic Games?
E-Sports have been around for a pretty long time. It all started at a pretty amateur level, which is understandable since not many people put a lot of emphasis on video games. Though over the course of some years, E-Sports have expanded at an unimaginable level with prize pools of millions of dollars. So as we digest the scale of the past events, could we speculate that E-Sports have a chance of showing up in the future Olympic Games?
Even if E-Sports has a chance of turning up in the Olympic Games, I suppose there would be certain games chosen by the organization. When you turn on your TV and start watching the Olympic Games, you can instantly understand what kind of sporting competition is being shown to you, right? Well, imagine if an older person turns on his TV and is blown away by what he sees - some strange cartoonish figures fighting, while different effects and colors are jumping right to left. This may create some confusion for those who are not really familiar with the concept of E-Sports and games in general, but the point is to choose the games that resemble simplicity and are generally easy to understand for various age groups.
For E-Sports to be accepted into the Olympic Games, it would firstly need to be accepted as a sport by the International Olympic Committee.
The good news is that E-Sports will star in the 2022 Asian Games. The Asian Games are similarly apparent to the Olympic Games and they are also approved by the International Olympic Committee. Though the specific games that will star in the games have not been announced, it is still a huge step towards the approval and overall influence of E-Sports. Of course, this makes the appearance of E-Sports in the future Olympic Games much more realistic.
The only certainty which will guarantee the appearance of E-Sports is generally the approval of E-Sports as a sport by the Committee. To do that, E-Sports must have a representative body, which in this case happens to be the International Esports Federation.
In my opinion, there's a huge chance we will see E-Sports in the future Olympic Games. With all the youngster attention, revenue and simply the mass influx of gamers over the recent years, it would be illogical not to introduce E-Sports.

In my opinion the only way to see Esport in Olympic is thx to china because they will host the competion and they have a huge market who are already familiar with Esport.
For exemple Big structure are working on building arena only for esports in china.

They are ruining the Olympics with all these sports being added or that are planning to be added. The Ancient Greeks would be laughing if they saw what they are doing. Might as well add hot dog eating contests at this point!

I was gonna write about esports vs convetional sports. If you really look at it not much different. It just new generation is more into esports, because they get it. So I have no doubt esports have big part in the future.
Yep, I think E-Sports should take the spotlight in the future, whereas other sports will not be as popular anymore.
I don't think conventional sports will go away. But I think esports will have equal spot in the space. Older generation don't understand it because they are not involved. Basically all sports are same, if you know the rules then it is as entertaining. Both require audience. I have been following League of Legends for a while, and think they are leading in this space. I will make a post in the future if have some spare time. But no doubt esports already have massive audience. Give it 5 more years it will explode.
Yeah they won't go anywhere, but as time goes on and the new generations come, most of the audience will probably consist of game enthusiasts. Just my opinion though :)
Nah, we need some athletic sports as well. They all have place in the future. My opinion as well :)
I am unsure whether they will get ever included in the Olympics. But that doesn't mean they won't be big or create an equivalent to the Olympic Games purely for e-sports :)

I think e-sports is awesome. I especially like the fighting game side of e sports, but I don't think it should be in the Olympic games I think it would be better if they had their own separate e sports Olympics. I think the other hard thing about e-sports in the Olympics is that games have a lifespan. EVO changes the fighting games it features every year.

I'm not so sure if we will see E-sports in Olympic Games, at least in the next 10 years. There are many sports that should go for Olympics Games before. In my opinion, what will happen is: E-sports would not be considerer a nerd thing, and this will improve media views and this would make the online games almost so big as the classic Olympic Games
