Bananas Day 🍌🍌

in Steem Sri Lanka2 years ago

After the New Year holidays, everyone is back to normal work. But the economic situation in the country is so bad that everyone is living a very difficult life. The prices of all goods and services are rising day by day. The price of a bar of baby soap rose to Rs: 175 and a bar of sunlight soap to Rs: 135 this morning. Recently, it was proposed to increase the price of a gas cylinder by Rs: 2500 but it was rejected. But I think the price of a gas cylinder will definitely go up in the next few weeks. In our city there are no oil queues at petrol sheds at present. Despite the relief, people are still suffering with the price of oil.

So I spent most of the day outside the home on those issues. Everyone knows that Embilipitiya is very popular for banana cultivation. Banana is a very popular fruit. Banana is the fourth most important crop grown in the world. Similarly, banana cultivation covers 54% of the total cultivated area in Sri Lanka. There are several very popular varieties of bananas in Sri Lanka. These are sugar bananas, anamalu, kolikuttu and Embul bananas which are very popular in Sri Lanka.

Embul bananas are grown in our uncles' banana plantations. They now harvest bananas about once a week. When I go to my uncles' house, I help them too. So they cut bananas because it is monday. Mudalali said not to cut too many bananas as the order of bananas has decreased a bit these days. So they did not cut too many bananas.

On New Year's Day, bought 1kg of embul bananas Rs: 60 from the shop. But now it has come down to around Rs: 40. On some days the price of 1kg of bananas drops to around Rs: 20-25. There is not much profit to be made compared to the cost of manure and labor. Yesterday they had one banana can, it weighed about 40kg. If we get bananas like that, it is always profitable.

So it was evening with the coconut peeling duty. I have brought a gadget that can peel coconuts by hand. So i don't need an iron rod to peel off the coconuts. I think almost everyone has seen this gadget. The coconut can be easily peeled off in less than a minute. No more effort as you can peel by hand.
