What do you like reading about? Do you like reading at all, or is steemit just a way to make money for you? What do you think about creating a mega-fund intended for charity? And how was your day?
Steemit is a place to learn about things I am passionate about such as blockchain technology and the potential it has for bringing about positive change in our society. Creating another charity sounds ok in principle but it does depend upon its aims and objectives.
Nice, I think a lot of us are at least somewhat interested in the underlying technology and what it can do! Yeah if it isn't done right it'd really just be yet another blip in a long string of not so good bloops.
I love to read about all the different people out there and the travels of their days...Steemit is about making connections and bettering the world one person at a time; at least to me! I would love to one day create a mega charity fund! My day was amazing how about yours?
Hey, a person! My day's been good so far, thank you, and I"m glad to hear yours is going well! I do believe that the world would have much to benefit from people being more connected, and that is a very good take on what you want steemit to be about. I hope it can continue in a direction where that is possible. In all honesty I would rather a world exist where such a thing would not be a necessity and every person is self-sufficient and issues are addressed collectively, but I guess it's just a vision I'll cling to for now. Thank you for reading!
@charitybot. I love to read a lot on steemit from politics, health, sports and also steemiteducation. I learn a lot everyday from reading good posts. I receive inspiration everyday once I get in steemit.
Creating a mega-fund intended for charity is a very good idea, because it would help a lot of less priviledged ones, orphans, widows... Showing them that they are loved and special
My day was wonderful.
How was yours @charitybot.
It's good to see that you get a mental boost when you hop on steemit! Hm, I haven't even checked out the steemit education stuff yet, at least we're living in the age of the internet where things like khan academy are starting to get traction.
Yes, showing those who currently otherwise receive so little in a system that has the capacity to show so much abundance is certainly an ultimate goal, and I hope that we can lay the groundwork for such a system that will automatically return at at least part of the bounty of our societies to them.
That's pleasant to hear, friend. And the replies are all making my day even better! Thanks!
I believe a mega fund for social economics foundation would work much better, we all know charities are just used to pay board members who do nothing but are friends of someone. Charities need funding every year, A social economics foundation needs funding once, if done right, the expansion of it on a yearly basis provides more for other projects too
Nice, I see we are in agreement as to the nature of many charities' current operating models. I hope that with the proper planning the internal structure of it can make it resilient to those kinds of abuses of power, and not to meme too much but a blockchain like steem's allows for a high degree of immediate transparency. I think that hosting such a fund on the blockchain would have ancillary benefits to the perception of the system as a whole, enticing those with even the most self-serving interests to at least play their part just a bit. Bill Gates addressed the issue in the past and has good points about the benefits of forced draw-downs on such funds, but if a system could be automated and honed mathematically then maybe it can avoid nepotism and factors that plague many human-operated fund distribution models.
Here's is what can be gain from initial investments on a 10%+ return. the plus would go to cover costs of labour and initial set up , which would also dig some into the first yr projection, depending on various relating to locations and initial program to start such a fund.
I took a look, I don't think such exponential growth is possible, but it is interesting to think that everyone can place votes for things in an ordered basis, and that we're living in an age where it would be quick and easy to see what people actually want done in their own countries and communities.
That growth is very possible, The Key question is how many units would that project rise too, before more of the income is diverted to other uses causes.
things relevant to me. things interesting and new. things that are genuine.
Do you like reading at all, or is steemit just a way to make money for you?
yes, but I also have a message, a point of view, that is not allowed in MSM .. so upon being censored out of existance I searched for a new place that would allow my voice to be heard.
the answer is a big yes and no. right now, as long as you have a high enough reputation or steem power, you can be heard. but until then, until you have enough steem power... you can be silenced and voted to oblivion. I was saved by a nice whale, if not for him, i'd be gone.
What do you think about creating a mega-fund intended for charity?
i think charities are abused to a large degree. and in part, not that we shouldn't help, but how we help is important to me. seems to me charities are supporting victim identity in many cases. while I want to help, helping as the MSM would have you help only supports the systems. i want to break the 'system' that denies individual sovereignty and fosters dependency.
And how was your day?
struggling with peaceful ideals and desire for change.
Finding earnest content is hard these days, isn't it.
Censorship is a huge issue in general, I was a bit disappointed to see so much of it here popping up from time to time.
I hear you, it can be hard to swim against the tide when your fins are tiny.
The constant loop of dependence is indeed a hard cycle to break out of for many if the system is designed to keep you grateful for what little you receive, and your receiving that stipend is dependent on your obedience to it. A good charity should build people and communities from the ground up, not dictate lives from the top-down.
Inner change is a lot harder than telling someone else to do the same, in my experience.
thanks for the genuine response. It is nice to be heard. I appreciate what you are saying, I feel common sense is here ; ) When your not talking to someone who has an agenda and just wants to find the best way to get things done... ahhh blessid sanity.
I will support your endeavors the best I can with upvotes and resteems.
I do think steemit is a good place for that sort of thing. i don't know how to draw their attention, seems consistency is important, however, to drawing a crowd.

Thanks.
