Micro-aggression

Ok, this is just a rant. Racism has many faces and just because there's no lynching doesn't mean there isn't racism. A new term i learnt is 'micro-aggression' and these are the sort of passive-aggressive behaviors that minorities have to deal with that someone in the majority doesn't experience or even notice.

I'm one of maybe 5 people of color living in my condo. We really do stand out over here and so we're definitely recognizable. Most of the guards are really nice but there's this one particular female security guard that goes out of her way to make it difficult.

Today, i was walking towards the lift with another two residents in front of me, when she singles me out and asks me to tap my residents card on the scanner. This is the third time she has singled me out. The first time, i gave her the benefit of the doubt. The second time, it was a little annoying. Today's the limit.

Anyway, i guess the best way to deal with a bitch like her is to ignore her.
