The Diary Game [19/07/2024] // House Hunting Day.

Steem greetings all the way from the motherland-Cameroon to all friends on the Steemit platform. Permit me share with you all how my day unfolded. It was a rainy day in my city and a work day but I decided to go house hunting.

My landlord has been extorting money from us the tenants for years now. When the tenants held a meeting and demanded the landlord to justify their electricity bills, he got angry and has decided to increase the bills to the extent that I can no longer tolerate it.

Last month I was away fro almost 3 weeks and before leaving for vacation, I switched off every appliance in my apartment but I was shocked when I returned and saw electricity doubled the amount I use to pay. When I confronted the landlord’s wife because the landlord was not around, her response was that I had starlink internet that is why my electricity bill is high. It baffles me how my internet connection is the reason why my electricity bills are doubled.

When the landlord returned, we met him to clarify the high electricity bills and his response was “…if you guys are not comfortable, you can go elsewhere.” I was so disappointed as some landlords in my city used the advantage of the ongoing crisis to extort money from tenants.

Early in the morning, I started the day by curating with the SC04 account and I called my boss to explain my situation to him and he sympathize with me and asked me to stay back and go house hunting. He was so angry with the statement made by my landlord. I left the house after curating for the first phase and went house hunting.

Though I was desperate to must see an apartment before the end of the month but I was selective with the type of apartment I was looking for. I called one agent to help me search but most of the ones he proposed were far off in the neighborhood. I needed an apartment in a fenced yard and it should be easily accessible along the road.

The weather was so cold and rainy but I got no choice but to walk around searching for an apartment. I do not want to stay where I am now next month. I finally got a three bed room apartment and negotiated with the landlady. I decided to buy roasted corn to keep my hands and mouth warm after walking around in cold.

I received a call from home that my baby’s nostrils were blocked due to cold. I immediately passed by the pharmacy to buy medications for the blocked nostrils due to cold. The pharmacist gave me two with different prices to choose according to my money. I paid the medication and left home.

When I arrived home, I was so hungry and I entered the kitchen and heated leftover fried rice I prepared in the morning. I ate it with bananas and enjoyed the combination.

It was indeed a stressful day but I’m happy it was not in vein as I settled with the three bed rooms apartment. I hope this new place the landlady will not be as bad as my present landlord. Until my next diary session guys, it is goodnight from my end🙌.
