The Diary Game [05/02/2024] // A Day with Mixed Feelings.

Steem greetings @everyone on this amazing platform, it is yet another moment for me to share with you all my daily routines. It was Monday in my city which is normally considered to be a “ghost town”. This means all shops, offices, schools, etc are shut down.

I got up from bed as early as 5:00 AM to prepare milk for my newborn baby. I usually used the ghost town days to wash dresses, do cleaning and sometimes cook some soups and refrigerate. Unfortunately, I noticed my three-year-old son sweating. I could not take him to the hospital along with the newborn. I calculated the stress of moving with the two and I decided to trek to the nearest pharmacy and purchase some drugs for him.

On my way to the pharmacy, I noticed the streets were literally empty. I could spot one or two persons trekking on the road either to visit friends and family or move to the farm.

Moving on such a day, one needs to be vigilant because you might fall victim to circumstances. It is common for stray bullets from either state militias or separatist fighters to kill. I tried to zoom some of the military patrols on the streets.

I arrived at the pharmacy on time and there was no long queue for me to follow. O quickly placed an order for anti-malaria drugs, antibiotics, and efferalgan syrup to calm down his temperature as I checked it with a thermometer and it was high. I was asked to pay at the counter after arranging the drugs in a plastic bag.

I left the pharmacy and had to trek back home. The sun was up and hot. I had to persevere and reach home to administer the drugs. When I reached home, I prepared tea and bread for him before administering the drugs.

Later on, I had to prepare lunch and I decided to cook ogbono, my husband’s favourite. Everything I needed was in the fridge, and it took me less than no time to prepare the soup.

Since it was Monday and schools resumed from weekends on Tuesdays due to the Monday ghost towns. I had to bake cupcakes for my kids to eat in school over the week. I assembled the ingredients and made the mixture placed the cupcakes paper on the tray and put the batter. I baked them using my oven and spent about 15 minutes and the cupcakes were ready.

After the baking, I was feeling exhausted. I took a warm bath and could not even eat. I went straight to bed as I called it a day. Until my next diary, I wish everyone a blessed week ahead. 🫶🫶✌️✌️

I really understand your condition when you go to the pharmacy to buy medicine for your child who is sick, and I hope that the child recovers quickly, after you give him the medicine, and I also see your struggle on the way where in front there is the military holding weapons, and it's very dangerous, thank you @chant, I hope you are in good health
