Steemit Engagement Challenge S11/W3 - “The first salary always remains extra special for me."
Steem greetings from the motherland-Cameroon to friends of the Hindwhale community. It is another session of the engagement challenge and I'm pleased to share content concerning the guiding questions below.
The topic of the discussion focuses on the topic "The first salary always remains extra special for me." of course, the first salary is always special as a reward for our hard work. We need this money to solve immediate needs and look good. But does this apply to my case ?🤔🤔.
The first salary always remains extra special for me.
The first salary at times comes when we have already spent the money by borrowing to meet up with pressing needs. At times, it comes and you settle debts and you are left with nothing and it seems as if you worked for free.
Notwithstanding, the first salary is always special because that marks the beginning of greater demands and needs. What I mean here is that when you get hold of the money, your needs automatically increase.
Your first salary triggers a lot of planning in your mind. This makes your first salary very special because a lot of planning has to be done to better manage your income well.
What did you do after you received your first paycheck?
My first paycheck was during my postgraduate studies at the University of Johannesburg. It was my monthly stipend as I was studying under a fully funded scholarship program.
At first, I was not planning to use the money for anything. I thought I will just save it in my account for further use. But when the money was paid to my account, it was like the whole family was going through financial hardship.
My kid's sister called me and explained how my parents were unable to pay her tuition fees at the university. I had to send some of the money for her to pay her tuition fees.
Also, I used some of the money to help my elder sister’s neighbour who was also facing financial hardship. The balance of the money, I gave to my elder sister who also needed financial assistance.
In a nutshell, I used my first salary to help my relatives and my sister’s neighbour.
Does your income support your family other than yourself?
Presently, I can say my income supports my family, friends in need and myself sometimes.
Most often as a mother, I hardly even think about myself when I receive my income. The well-being of the family comes first. I make sure I satisfy everyone in the family first because my family is my priority. My scale of preference starts with my kids first.
At times, I help those who requested help and I can also take care of my parents and other siblings. Sometimes, my uncle and aunties requested help and I make sure to assist them.
Did you study to earn money or knowledge?
I studied to first gain knowledge as I always believed that “knowledge is power”. Without knowledge, one cannot even think of searching for a job to earn income.
Without knowledge, we are dumped and will not be able to associate with society. Knowledge helps us to interact with one another and without knowledge, living together as a family would have been complicated because of lack of knowledge.
We should prioritise knowledge over studying to earn. I know many youths nowadays study to earn to the extent that after studies when there is no job to earn, frustration sets in and they do not think creatively.
Gaining knowledge is an added advantage for us to acquire skills. From the skills acquired via knowledge gained, we can now earn to better our living standards.
Is life all about earning a lot of money or something else?
According to me, money is not all about everything, though some people think earning lots of money makes life easier. Remember, money comes with lots of responsibilities, pressure on how to manage it, etc. If not well managed, you develop poor health issues.
Peace of mind is essential in life and not lots of money. Earning lots of money can never buy you peace of mind. Once you have your inner peace, everything will fall into place for you.
Earning lots of money means you have numerous sleepless nights which will eventually cause serious health issues in the long run.
In sum, money is good but do not become a slave behind money to the extent that money controls your mental health. Peace of mind is essential because it gives us a calm mind to think creatively and build a peaceful society. Me encanto tu post, es muy cierto cuando llega el salario es porque ya lo debemos. Debemos realizar buenas planificación para administrarlo. Pero aquí en mi país debido a la grandes inflación todo lo que se gana es para comida

Cómo es algo tan deseado, uno planifica muchas cosas, pero lo bueno es que lograste ayudar a otras personas, con tu primer salario, algo que nos llena de mucha satisfacción.

Jajajaja tiene razón amiga eso pasa cuando llega el sueldo ya todo lo regresamos a las personas en las cuales tenemos deudas.
Lo bueno fue que ese dinero lo uso con un fin para dar mejoría a los problemas que en ese entonces paso amiga esas son bendiciones.

Especially when you receive your first salary from you own hands. I have decided strongly that it will always better just to open your own business than working for somebody, can you agree with that? Of course the process is hard and thus we might need some good helpers like for example incfile review 2023 because we cannot foresee everything you know, but that feeling when you have at last opened your own LLC and can give yourself salary...well first salary, i mean this is priceless feeling for sure. so partly i can understand everyone who experiences this feeling
As i was reading through this post na😂 I just began to laugh as it is actually very true that immediately your salary enters your account, everything that is aroubd you just goes sideways. Everyone becomes sick and has problems despite all the plans you made for the money😂

I can see how you spend your first salary, from giving your younger sister to your sister neighborh and giving your elder sister, honestly babe you did so much at least through your monthly salary you were able to touch life's.
Family is everything we got, so helping them is also in our own good and your parents will be so proud of you.
Knowledge is profitable, without knowledge we can get what we want, even the money we are looking for, if we don't have knowledge we can't even hustle for the money we are looking for.
I love this part when you say money is good but we should not be slaves to money and we should not let money to have control over us.
