SEC-S18W5 | Traveling and enjoying with kids | Trip to Grandpa.

Steem greetings all the way from the motherland-Cameroon to all fellow travelers in this community. It is week 5 of the engagement challenge and I’m glad to participate and share my thoughts about the topic “ Traveling and enjoying with kids”.

I will based my analysis following the guiding questions below and I hope you all find pleasure in reading through this masterpiece.

How is your previous experience by traveling with kids?

Travelling with kids at times is fun and at times is so stressful all depending on the season and mode of transportation used.

Recently I traveled with all my kids for vacation to their paternal grand father’s house. We lived in the North West region while he lives in the South West region. It was an exhausting journey from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM with the kids.

When we arrived the bus station they were all excited but when it was tiring night for them as they could not sleep comfortably. This was a journey that supposed to be at most 5 hours but due to bad nature of the roads, it took us the whole night.

I could not sleep as I had a 7 months old to make sure he was comfortable to sleep, wakes up and eat. I decided to take a night bus because temperatures during the day are extremely high and lower during the nights. My kids are not heat friendly and I got no choice but to travel with them at night.

If you have the opportunity to travel with them, where do you plan to get them?

We have been travelling to the South West region on different occasions with the kids and visiting different sites or leisure places around town. We most often go to the wildlife center but this time around we will obviously be visiting different and new places.

We had fun with the kids in the trampoline their grandpa mounted in his compound for them to play everyday. Evening hours are good times for us to go along the seaside and enjoy the fresh sea breeze.

I am also planning to take them to the botanical garden on Friday to enjoy the freshness of the garden and catch fun with new friends.

We might as well visit the beach before our vacation time is over. At the beach the kids will also have fun and make new friends.

What was the memorable anecdotal fact with children in the trip?

From our last trip to grandpa, he took us all to the wildlife center where we were opportune to be taken around the center with a conservator giving us first hand lectures about the animals.

The kids equally enjoyed some moments at the center’s museum where we were showed around different bones and skulls of death animals. It was their first time to see the bones of a whale preserved at the center.

It was a trip they will never forget in their life due to these anecdotal facts.
