Preparations for 2 Weeks Imposed Lockdown by Separatists Fighters in My Region.

in Steem Cameroonlast month

Steem greetings all the way from the motherland-Cameroon. Guys, it’s been a hectic week trying to put all the pieces of my life together. As a parent, we had to ensure our kids returned back to school for a new academic year hitched free.

Unfortunately, it has not been hitched free. A two weeks lockdown has been imposed on us and we had no choice but to succumb to the imposed lockdown.

It is a stressful time for us especially during this period after spending lots of savings to buy school needs and paid for fees, bought books, etc. And now, have to buy different food items to keep at home to eat and seat and sleep while other kids are in school studying in other regions. They will all follow the same syllabus and the same school calendar.

The traffic at the Bamenda Food Market was Terrible

It took us unaware and I had to rush to the bank to withdraw some money to use and buy food items. Then I quickly sat down to draft a list of the items to be bought. The list will help me to stay within range and all the essential things were indicated on the list.

The traffic on this day in town was horrific as everyone was on the move to either travel out of town or to purchase food items. I took a cap to the main market to first buy my body lotion.

The weather conditions were good though not too bright but at least no rain as previous day to disrupt movement around town. Walking around the market with traffic jams, one had to be virgulante because days as such some people take advantage to move around and steal. You could ended up returning home in tears. I held my bag firm and move around and bought almost everything that was on my list.

Busy street in the market.

Buying was stressful and to transport them back home was another long deal due to traffic. I stood for almost 2 hours struggling to get a cab back home. Then I decided to take a bike to ease my movement. I made arrangements with the bike rider and we agreed on a good price. I left the market after middday.

When I arrived home, I was so hungry and exhausted. I felt like falling asleep but I needed something to eat. I had no plans to cook for the day but needed food to stay healthy and energetic. I had to prepare something fast to eat. I made a funny plantain mixed with veggies and pork to eat.

My Dinner

After eating, I took a warm bath and joined my husband to watch the UEAFA Nations league between Germany Vs Serbia and Cameroon Vs Namibia for the 2025 African cup of nations qualifiers. It was indeed a stressful day but fulfilled, until my next diary, I wish you all happy Sunday.

This is serious feelings, because facing the lockdown is not an easy challenge, mostly with children and if one doesn't my have any money at hand it a worrisome situation,
This lockdown needs prayer.
But I joined my faith with the faithful and pray that one day this will be a past story in Jesus Christ Mighty name Amen.
Wishing a happy Sunday.

Our only hope now is on God to protect and save us from any forces. Thank for interceding for us🙏🏽.

Despite what the kids have to go through as a result of the lockdown, is the best thing for everyone at the moment especially in times like this. You guys should be prayerful , so that the fight won’t escalate further..

Happy Sunday…

It is a crazy fight without any goal but for selfish reasons. Just last night, the gunshots were terrific. My 4 years son laid down on the floor in the room and was screaming to the sister that he told her it was not safe. I was so worried about the trauma the kids had to go through for years now.

This is something I don’t pray for people to experience because I know what you’re going through. It happened during the militancy period in Nigeria. It was really terrible.

I pray your kids wouldn’t grow up to remember such terrible experience..

The whole town was busy with everyone running helter-skelter. My dear it cannot just end like that people there are people cashing out well while majority are suffering. It is very easy to start a war but very difficult to end it. Our only hope is to pray for God’s intervention. Welcome on Steemit, I just read through your blog🤗.

Yeah actually. It is very easy to start a war but also very hard to end. Thank you very much for reading through my blog and welcoming me, I really appreciate 😊🙌

I'm very sorry for the stress this is causing you, I can understand the situation of having to stay at home unwillingly.

I hope the government will look into this and maybe reverse the stay at home order.

The stay at home is not declared by the government but rather imposed by separatists fighters.

Thank you, friend!

Thank you @karianaporras and team for the support.

I totally understand this. Having to buy all school essential for your children only for them to end up back at home because of the lock down this will have negative effects not just on the resident of that region but also the children that will be lacking behind academically. It also so sad that considering the high price of commodities now you had to go through the stress of going back to the market to get food stuff. Thats the world we leave in but am glad we always find our way lastly, sending hugs from nigeria .
