Act of kindness Contest : 31/12/2020

Hello steemians all over the globe, it's the end of the year and a new year to begin tomorrow. The Anglophone crisis has led to increase of IDP's in the country. Especially the vulnerable group like person living with disabilities. Their vulnerabilities has further been compounded.

According to the Guiding Principles on Internal Displacement, internally displaced persons (also known as "IDPs") are persons or groups of persons who have been forced or obliged to flee or to leave their homes or places of habitual residence, in particular as a result of or in order to avoid the effects of armed conflict.

Today I had to visit one of the IDP who is person living with disabilities. She has decided not to be dependent and learned to do hair. So, she has opened a workshop to plait. She explained to me she has not been able to acquire all the equipments needed to operate well.

She doesn't have any problem plaiting despite the fact that she is shot. I had to support her with some plaiting equipments for her to earn a living. She is an example of those being pushful despite their challenges.

Her greatest challenge is that people should not look at her disability as inability. To her she can do any work to earn a living. She explained to me that someone will come into the salon and insisting that it's the boss that will plait her hair. I gave her motivational quotes which made her smile and laugh out.
