THE POWER OF WORDS

in #writing8 years ago

Using STEEM, YouTube, and other tools to speak and write for a living has granted me more consciousness of the power of words.

My time online has helped me realize how we can elevate our experience by learning with the intention to build something good and valuable instead of wandering aimlessly into the path of chaos and destruction.

While I have yet to verify if the etymology of the words spoken in this video are factual I do admit to finding them interesting, striking a chord, and resonating with my will to speak the truth.

What are your thoughts on the Secret Spells of the English Language? Is there wisdom here or just clever word play meant to amuse?

Please share your words below.

Thought-provoking post! Her strongest supposition is where she equates a society's theology with their words' etymology @ about 1:45. Couldn't agree more!

All words in any language cast spells... That's why "spelling" words are important. Good post Champ.

Yes Sir! That is also why one should be "in the word" as we go about our lives. Nothing wrong with a little prayer, ever.

Interesting video. She makes some points. I think you could argue that pagan Christians should convert and stop worshipping pagan gods. Since we speak English Jesus Christ was not the Son of the One Who Is. It seems "strange" that biblical names are translated into pagan or foreign ones.

Not sure I agree with you or wish to argue your point but upvoted regardless out of respect for free speech and the sharing of ideas. Welcome to STEEM.

Thanks I don't like how only some of the bible is translated into English but the names are not. This video reminds me of how the bible is mistranslated.

@champagnecrypto we are on the Crypto bandwagon so early. Most of the world still does not know yet....

I often ask people in stores and places at random if they even heard of bitcoin and many still say no, some say "ehh yeah once" for us that's a good sign.

I agree @truce in fact I Love when I here those Magic Words. They will get here when they are supposed to get here.

I do this for fun

I will walk into a store and ask "do you accept bitcoin?"

When they say no, I swipe with bitpay etc card (although i'm starting to not like bitpay)

and then i say "well you do now" lol

(yes i know it converts to USD but I like to think its straight crypto lol)

word association salad

She is correct, and I wrote about this very thing somewhat earlier today. The internal dialogue lulls us into a trance, making us forget ourselves. I take your post as an omen for me to focus even more on this. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing your words @praticalthought and welcome to STEEM!
