Some success to indestructible smartphone displays is on cards with diamonds
This has been a hot topic among all major brands to achieve indestructible smartphone displays, but success did not came in the manner people looking for. Apple did some struggles to achieve this with the help of sapphire glass. The same effort was made by Motorola through the flagship Moto Z2 Force but its plastic-like ShatterShield technology never really took off.
Even though big companies dropped their efforts for this issue and focused on other improvements, but one company which did not give up was Akhan Semiconductor. They have been working on this project for many years through their flagship product, called Mirage Diamond Glass. This glass is made from lab-grown diamonds and as per company claims this glass is six times stronger and 10 times harder.
Most important thing about Mirage Diamond Glass is its ability to be applied over existing strengthened glass, like Gorilla Glass. The company’s CEO, Adam Khan says we are testing this glass with different device makers, so the best application method can be achieved. If there are no major hiccups then this glass will become available for mobile devices sometime in 2019.
