Life Lesson - The Little Kitty

A little-strayed kitty was adopted by a farmer when he saw it near his farm. He loves the kitty so much that made the other animals in the farm jealous. One day, the farmer has to go to the market to sell his vegetables that he has just harvested, so he has to leave the little kitty unattended at home. Once the farmer left, the little kitty started to wandering alone around the farm, looking for friends to talk and play with.

The kitty went to the barn and met the horse, the cow, and the goat, the kitty walked straight to the horse as he was amazed by his huge muscular frame. Before the little kitty can even open its mouth to speak the horse made a loud whinny that startled the little kitty. "You are still new here, one day you will know that I am the most loved animal on this farm because I can carry a lot of heavy things for the farmer, you little kitty is useless", said the horse. The little kitty lowered its head and walked away.

The cow heard what the horse has said, and she doesn't want to be left behind mocking the little kitty. "I am one of the most loved animals on this farm too, as I gave the farmer milk and he can also make it into cheese and butter, but you little kitty is useless", said the cow, mockingly. The little kitty became even sadder when he heard what the cow has said. The little kitty was about to run out of the barn when he heard a voice calling him to stop.

The little kitty turned around and saw the sheep. "The farmer loves me too, he can use my wool to make threads and fabrics and it gives him the warmth in cold days, but you are useless little kitty", said the sheep, laughing at the little kitty. The kitty ran away, and all the other animals in the farm also started to mock him, telling him that they are more os a use to the farmer than him. The kitty ran into a little dark corner to hide and cry, he was terribly sad and started to wonder if he is really useless.

An old cat heard the little kitty's cry and asked the little kitty the reason he is crying. "I am of no use to the farmer on this farm, unlike all the other animals", said the little kitty. The old cat was touched by the little kitty story and he gave him his wise advice, "Listen to me little kitty, you may not have the strength to pull a carriage, to give milk, wool or eggs, but you are a fool if you are crying about something that you can't provide. Use the gift that God has given to you, that is to bring happiness", said the old cat.

That evening, the farmer came back from the market, tired because of the long journey and the hot sun. The little kitty ran at him, licked the farmer's foot and then jumped into his arm. The farmer fell himself to the ground, played around with the little kitty, filled with laughter and happiness. The farmer then hugged the little kitty close to his chest while saying, "It has been a tiring day, but everything changes to better when you came to greet to me with so much love, you are so precious to me, you are small but you understood the meaning of love".

The moral of the story

Don't be sad when you are unable to do or provide something like everyone else. Do the best as you can in your own capabilities. Be honest, and stay humble, don't be arrogant or brag to others for what you have done. For the arrogant will be frowned upon and the humble will be much more highly regarded.
