Life Lesson - The Lion and The Mouse

This is a story about a mouse who lives in a small hole inside a jungle. He lives alone and he only comes out from his hole when he needs to look for food. Inside the jungle lives a fierce lion, all the animals including the mouse is afraid of him. The lion lives nearby the mouse's hole, that's the reason the mouse seldom comes out and only comes out at night time when the lion is asleep.

One night, when the lion was fast asleep, the mouse scurried and quickly looks for foods before the lion wakes up. It was really dark, as the moon is hidden behind some clouds. The mouse uses only his sense to look for food as he couldn't see anything in front of him. Suddenly, he bumped into something, unfortunately he actually bumped into the sleeping lion. The lion wokes up and grabbed the little mouse.

The lion was so angry, as the mouse has disrupted his sleep.
“Who dares to disturb me while I am resting? I will swallow you in whole" said the lion.

The mouse was so afraid and shivers in horror,
“My dear sir, the king of the jungle, please do not eat me, I am so tiny, I'm not even worthy to be your snack. But if you let me go, one day I will help you when you are in trouble” pleaded the little mouse.

The lion laughed hysterically, "don't make me laugh little mouse, what can something as tiny as you can help? I am the king of the jungle, I don't need anyone's help, especially someone as tiny as you, but since you are so funny, I will let you go this time", said the lion, still laughing. So the lion let the mouse free, and the mouse quickly headed back to safety inside his hole before the lion changes his mind.

A few days later, while the mouse was sleeping in his hole, he heard the roars of the lion crying for help. The mouse quickly went outside and saw the lion trapped in a hunter's net. The more the lion struggled, the more he gets tangled and then he saw the little mouse. The mouse came near the lion and then said to him " a few nights ago you spared my life, today I will keep my promise to return your kindness". "Don't be an idiot little mouse, what can you do to help me?" asked the lion. "Just you wait and see" said the mouse. Now, the mouse has sharp little teeth, he bites through the net piece by piece until the lion managed to get loose. The lion thanked the mouse, and they became friends after that. They even sleeps and dine together, its a happy ending for both of them.

The moral of the story

Do not look down on other people who looks weaker or inferior than you. You may never know, even the weakest of them all will be able to contribute or help in a big way, so always be gracious to them.
