Marcus Tullius Cicero (107 BC - 43 BC) was an important Roman philosopher, writer, lawyer and politician. He was considered one of the greatest orators in ancient Rome. He received the teachings of ancient Greek philosophers, poets and historians. In order to fully participate in politics, the first step was to seek military prestige and, during the internal wars, Cicero soon went through military life, when he was present in the military campaign under the command of Consul Pompey Strabo. Returning to civilian life, he began to study Philosophy, but his greatest skill was oratory, which he studied with the main rhetorician of the time.
