Sleep is a way for humans to rest. But deep sleep is sometimes difficult to obtain so that the pattern of rest becomes disturbed, then affects the body's fatigue when facing the routine the next day.
One of the leading sleep doctors from the United States, Dr. Michael Breus shared five tips on how to get a good night's sleep, as summarized from the release of Princess Cruises' Tips for Sleeping Well ".
- Get to know and set a sleep schedule
The first step to getting a good night's sleep on a regular basis every day is to recognize and set a sleep schedule. This needs to be done so that sleep has a regular rhythm so that the biological clock and body functions will be adjusted and run smoothly.
- Enjoy the morning sun
Other tips to get a good night's sleep is to wake up in the morning to enjoy the morning sun for 15 minutes.
This step is important in helping to regulate the production of the hormone melatonin or sleep, launch internal body clocks for 24 hours, and help the body get regular light and dark patterns.
- Avoid caffeine from two o'clock in the afternoon
Caffeinated drinks, such as coffee and energy drinks have a stimulant effect for 8 hours and this means preventing you from getting a good night's sleep and quality. If possible try to avoid caffeinated drinks starting at two o'clock in the afternoon so that you can sleep well.
- Exercise regularly
The next tip to be able to sleep well is to exercise regularly every day. No need to go to the gym or run a marathon remotely, just by doing simple sports like walking to the office can help get a good night's sleep.
- Stop Sports four hours before going to bed
Exercise is recommended to help you sleep well, but don't do it four hours before bedtime. Besides making it difficult to sleep, this habit also shows indiscipline in exercise. It's good to exercise at the latest during the day.
