Uptown Girls
Tonight, I met up with one of my best friends to tell her about Steemit. You'll get to meet her soon, but for now, you get to see what she sees through the lens of a camera.
That's right. The girl knows how to capture you for the Snap.
We went to Amélie's, a French bakery in uptown Charlotte. I brought my laptop and showed her how awesome Steemit can be. She's a hair stylist and makeup artist, and thought that Steemit could be a great addition to her current social media platforms! She signed up in the bakery as we enjoyed our treats.
We each got a macaron, and an interesting drink: the lavender candied orange soda. It was made with lavender water, candied orange juice, soda water, and two shots of espresso. Not quite the classic combination! It was like a tug-of-war on the tastebuds: sweet and bitter, bright and earthy, sparkling and smooth. It wasn't like anything I had tasted before.
Next, we went to dinner at a vegan restaurant called Bean. I hadn't been there before, but since she's vegan, she frequents the place and has raved about it to me. We had fried tofu as an appetizer, then she had a barbecue veggie burger and I had jackfruit tacos for dinner.

She was right about it being good. I loved it because, even though I eat meat, I'm allergic to milk. This restaurant had plenty of cheese alternatives that were delicious. There was also a market inside where we could purchase vegan grocery items, so I'll probably be going back for some of those dairy-free desserts!
I snapped this sunset tonight after dinner.
We had a pretty tame night on the town, but we've always liked taking our turn as uptown girls. She and I grew up together, and now we get to collaborate creatively. We help each other out and have a good time along the way. Keep making new memories with old friends, because they can be your greatest support system.

Yeah I love Amelie's! This was my first time going to the uptown location, though. I usually go to the NoDa one because it's always open lol. Where else can you get coffee past 10 pm??? Do you live in Charlotte?
