Fun Fun Fun in the Hot Hot Sun
Today, I was enthralled that my husband wanted to exercise and exert himself physically - he has a rather mentally taxing job and deals with a lot of bureaucratic loose ends.
So the girls and I headed out to run the annual Boise Women's Classic. Just a 5k. While I can't reason stealing the training time and three hours at random to go blow a hundred bucks on a marathon at his point in raising kids, a 5k, 10k, half seems achievable. And it's hot to boot. A quick hundred farenheight today.
Our finish time was (?), well who knows. I do know we stopped a few times because my eldest wants to run the race. And I will not push her to it nor discourage her. But in the heat, she enjoyed riding more than going on foot. And she got new manicured nails, do-dads on them, some whey ice cream, baby got a juicy orange and mama got to enjoy a change of pace. Raising kids means you slow down. So I like to #powerup!
The band was great! The crowd was fab and it was one of those days I ran into (literally) friends we have not seen in awhile. I love Boise, Idaho. Like all things, it is changing. But I hope it can hold out awhile until we are all mobile enough to find a nice expat colony, I can raise them up, we can be out of the military wholly (love it, but it is still a tie that binds!), and we moved here to weather the next economic storm - so can that hurry up already?
While I ran, no music, just thought about my walk with God, friends, family, the next race, SegWit, our budget, homeschool prep, the next year of mops and how badly I'm screaming inside to swim a couple miles, nap and finish the seven really great books on the nightstand.
Cheers from Boise. May you be blessed in this day!
Good for your husband, It is easy to forget about taking care of ourselves........
