    That second image is particularly nice, although his expression is kind of odd! Nice framing. What, exactly, is that stick for?

    Its a traditional methods of making rice flour. The stick is straight forward, metal is placed at one end of the stick, and that stick is used to grind the wet paddy to make the flour.
