How to Become a Web Developer - Things You Need to Learn - STEP 1
Today I wish to share with you what you need to become a full stack web developer. This is because going into web development without proper guide will be a tremendous waste of time. I am a living witness of that fact.
This guide is for those who intend to dive into the field of web development but do not know how to start or which language to learn first. It is also for those who must have learnt one language or the other, but do not know where else to go, this is because as a web developer, you can never get too comfortable. if you stay at the level for so long, your entire business will be eaten up by those who follow trends.
To become a web developer, you need to follow a step in your learning process so that remain in a spot over a long period of time without making progress.
WHERE DO I START?
This is the most asked question for every web development wanna be.
HTML/CSS
HTML/CSS is the first start for every web developer out there, this is a must do if you want to go into web development. Anybody that tells you otherwise is not a web developer. One of the reason why you must learn these first is because they are the building blocks of every website you see out there. That is the building block of the web no matter how complex the backend or the technology the website is using, the front must make use of HTML/CSS.
HTML handles the Mark-up and presentation, and CSS handle the styling. Using a building for instance, HTML is the bricks and cement used to build the house, while CSS is the paint for beautifying and also the structural arrangement/positioning components of the house to derive aesthetic beauty.
HTML have different versions which are XHTML, HTML4.0 and HTML5, they all have similar syntax with slight differences but once you learn any of them, you can easily switch the another. But I will advice you go with HTML5, it is more popular and stable, also supported by many browsers especially recent browsers.
Difficulty:
HTLM and CSS are easy to learn, because they are not programming languages that requires a lot of logic and algorithm. It is just simple mark-up and stylesheet.

Basic tools of every web developer
Text Editor: Notepad++, Sublime Text, Brackets, Atom.io or IDE like: PHP Storm, Adobe Dreamweaver, Netbeans etc. I will suggest using Brackets or Sublime Text. These are advance text editors with nice features.
The text editor is where you write your codes or programming languages that produces its output on web browsers.

Photo CreditImage Editors: Corel Draw, Photoshop, Illustrator etc. The image editors are use to do little tweak on images which include image resizing etc.

Photo CreditFTP/SSH Tool: Filezilla, Putty etc. FTP meaning File Transfer Protocol enables you to get(host) your files(website files ) to the server.

Photo CreditGood Browser: Firefox, Chrome, Opera etc. I recommend Chrome, it is the best browser for web developers because it is pretty fast with also good JavaScript support engine.

Cloud Storage: Dropbox, Google Drive etc. This enables you to save and backup your file on cloud. Reasons why I personal use cloud storage is because it enables me to access my files even when my PC has some technical errors.
Start with the above mentioned technologies while I give you the next step/where next to go in my next article. Stay focused and updated.
