CHRISTMAS MESSAGE

TOPIC: WHEN GOD MESSES WITH YOUR PLANS
SCRIPTURE: MATTHEW 1:18-22

Blessed be God for another Christmas day! Truly, the date December 25th was in ancient times a Roman holiday to celebrate the last days of winter (December 21st bring the shortest day of the year). But in 325 A.D. in Rome, professing Christians settled on this date for commemorating the coming of Jesus Christ into the world. But while theologians argue on the actual date of His birth, we shall focus on the event of His birth. Notice that today's scripture (KJV) says in Matthew 1:18

**“...she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.”

She was 'FOUND' with a child! She was not'PLANNED' with a child! She was FOUND with a child means, that particular pregnancy was not 'PLANNED' by them. It was not in Mary's or Joseph's original plan/agenda. It came as a shock and that was why Joseph wanted to secretly put Mary away to avoid embarrassment/scandal. Likewise, there are many events you've been permitted to go through, which were not in your life's plan. You did not plan to have a marital delay, financial embarrassment, bitter betrayal by loved ones, scandals, wars from determined enemies, separation, divorce, sickness/diseases, false accusations, failure, death of a loved one etc, but they've all happened.
Joseph too, did not plan to have his wife's pregnancy become a talk of the town like a scandal. Indeed, there are many times God will step into your plan and “mess” with it because He is determined to massage (announce) your destiny. Any time God wants to mesmerize your star, (to fascinate and make you sore attractive), He will interfere and “mess” with your plan! Abraham planned to stay in Haran and not in Canaan! Peter planned to be a fishing magnate and not a ministry star! Ruth did not plan to be a young widow! Hosea did not plan to marry a prostitute! David did not plan to be king. He planned to be a shepherd and a worldwide musician!

WHAT HAS GOD MESSED WITH IN YOUR LIFE'S PLANS? As 2017 ends and on this Christmas, remind yourself that like Joseph and Mary, if unplanned events happen to you, it is because the UNSEEN FINGER of God, is guiding you to destiny. Weep not! Your laughter season is near.
