My Actifit Report Card: August 19 2021
Out and moving a little earlier as I had shopping to do. Once a week is the current model.
Getting a nice display of orchids flowering in the garden
Did the shopping. This mask mandate kills me. My body hates the foul air. Went home to offload and then headed to a track I have not walked before aiming to intersect where I walked the day before
Not far after that sign I saw the first sun orchid a bit off the track
Spider grevillea
This looks like an orchid. Single leaf. Flower spike growing out of the sheath. Single bud forming. Clues as to why it is not - secondary leaf forming up the spike and second bud forming. How do I know? Seen them before - milkmaids - burchardia umbrellata. Will be nice to see them flowering.

Always like meeting people when I find orchids - nice to walk a track with someone who knows the track. She did tell me about an epiphyte orchid

Spied this tear drop flower on the way back up the hill - tough to photograph as they are so small
We talked orchid spotting. My companion found this orchid getting ready for spring - sun orchid. I may have a convert
Found the waxlips in the grassy open section up top - quite a few
Pea flower at ground level in there too
Top down photo of waxlips - shows the sandy, stony base they grow in. Have ringed the single leaf - quite hairy.
One more sun orchid found well off the track. Always great to walk a new track and to find orchids - more than two of each type.
Did a whack of garden and verge tidying up when I got home.
Dinner: Chicken drumsticks in airfryer with potato roesti - a favourite from my time working in Switzerland
