🗽STEEMUSA's Introduction Contest (Entry)🗽
Greetings, Steemians!
It's finally happening! You've seen other countries banning together and showing support for their neighbors... and it's our turn!
To be honest, as soon as I saw this post Introducing: Steem USA - 1600SP Giveaway, I got a little giddy.
You see, the climate of national pride (no matter where you live) has become somewhat twisted at the hands of propagandists. The major difference in the USA: It's not allowed. If I love America, I'm a White Supremacist Misogynistic Nazi (regardless of race or sex)😒. Basically, I can't (without repercussions) be happy to be an American. Of course, I AM. But as far as 'normal' social media goes, my silence must be telling. 😏
The hubs @chrisroberts and I have both essentially left social media ( I still use Instagram and Twitter, but Facebook is only kept for Messenger). Part of the reason we were so excited to find and join Steemit was the possibility of actual FREE SPEECH, which for the last several years, we've not had.
Now, before ya all get all nutty....I don't have anything really crazy to put out there. I'm mostly (Lol!) a moral, upstanding citizen that does my best to help myself AND help others. I'm a helper, what can I say? 😏 Go ahead, go check out all my social media. I'm a damned diamond in the rough! 🤣
I also have a tendency to take the information being screamed the loudest ... and debunk it. 😎 I have no echo chamber that reasonates with me, for no one around us seems to use their noggins. 🙃 I do understand how hard it must be to be in a city where the chamber of echos is the only thing heard. Probably makes thinking for oneself a touch more difficult. I believe it would even be hard for me.
But I digress.
Back to the topic at hand (which I may not have mentioned...😏)
Why do I want to be a part of STEEMUSA and what is my vision of its future?
I'm excited that there ARE folks around the USA that are willing to communicate, share amazing American stories, photography, ideals, artwork... the list goes on. A little support goes a long way. I know I would excel in this area (support) and am willing to do the work to help anyone along the way who may need it. 😍 If STEEMUSA can be an example for the rest of the world, of all the great things America has to offer, show the other countries that we can work together for the greater good of ALL (not just America, but America first), and just support and build each other up... well, that might just be a step in the most perfect direction.😍
I'm also just plain stoked to meet everyone that is also PRO-USA. Honestly, I don't know many IRL.... 😏
I'd like to point out, I'm pro-nationalists, in general. I LOVE, repeat LOVE, other cultures. If we stop allowing folks to be proud of their heritage, then they'll stop sharing their stories and suddenly we're all little grey alien socialists! It feels like everything would get really boring, really fast.
In conclusion, I think Americans (more so than other countries, or so I've observed) are SEEKING community because we've been pushed away from it for so long. Social Media is just the new way we are reaching out to others, almost as a last resort, trying to find our niche. I truly love that Steemit allows me to make friends from all over the globe... and now it might even bring neighbors together.

This does sound like a really good thing, I think having state sub-groups would be good too.
Though Steemit, itself is a community, I think it's nice to have little groups... it's only natural. There is already a group of Colorado folks that are supporting and meeting regularly, though we live in the middle of the mountains and it's a much further distance for us to get... anywhere, so we haven't been.
We were just talking (again) today about how nice is it to be growing friendships on here and about the possibilities of STEEM allowing us to be able to visit everyone. Pretty awesome.

I agree with many of your points. Of course there are things I am not proud of, some of which led me to leave, but most of which you mentioned in your post! Extended time in another country has reminded me that (at least where I come from) the best of USAians are down-to-earth, hardworking, helpful and innovative people.

Lol! Unlikely. (I have a BFA in Theatre Performance...😜 ) I believe I had a GBF (gay best friend) before the term was cool and 'virtue signaling'. 😋 I guess that's cause I don't judge folks on what they do behind closed doors... naked. Ain't nunna my business! 😄
