These dresses are very beautiful for our girls, they are called pillowcase type, as I was investigating their beginnings and come from the times of the war when mothers had nothing to put on their daughters, they took the fabrics they found and with that they made dresses.
This is a genus idea carolinacardoza! I must try it.

I agree that it is better to make them more beautiful than they were. For someone like me, I like the idea of cutting up a pillow case and turning into a dress. (but either way I have never made a dress before - I guess I will have to wait until I am a grandma!)
