Children should relate to reading, and it is in the hands of educators to interest them and to make them passionate about a good book, thus making it meaningful.

One of the best things for the brain is to speak out loud with intonation and emotion to convey those emotions when reading. The model must be given in terms of how it is enjoyed, how it is read, how the imagination is put in what is read, because each one forms a different idea of what is read and modeled, showing thus with our reading behavior, that that is satisfactory.

When children see the adult reading daily, they imitate and get excited, but everything depends on the teaching given to the student.

The stories have something peculiar and is that stories arise in different places, but come to the deepest concerns of the human being.

There are many texts that can be used in the classroom, but the trick is to know what children like, and from there a story is selected.

But, to choose a story what should we do?

  • Reading it.
  • Appropriating the text in the first place.
  • Vocalize.
  • Feel and then transmit.
  • Rehearse how the words will be pronounced and the appropriate intonation.
  • How to say the emphasis and build the sentences.
And after all this, when the educator realizes that the children are surprised by the story?.
  • When the eyes are on the teacher.
  • When you want to intervene.
  • When asking questions.
  • When the children talk in the playground about the story.
  • When they approach the educator and ask if they can read a similar story, or from the same author.
  • When they desperately ask to read another story.
From the storytelling, interest in reading is generated.

Steps to apply the story, as a teaching method.

The literary practice helps to work with students, comparing literary knowledge in a real context, through different realities.

Steps that the educator should evaluate:

  • Select stories according to the age or interests of the students.
  • Choose and generate adequate spaces to tell stories.
  • Prepare and rehearse the narration.
  • Carry out the narration singing and vocalizing, in addition to using a simple language and in an appropriate way.
  • Enjoy the story and transmit the passion for reading.
Reading is the individual and voluntary act through which the teacher performs acts of recognition, not only to decode the letters, but to go beyond the literal level that is presented. When a direct relationship is established, between what the text says and what is thought as a topic, readers and trainers of the reader's habit, achieve a change of thought.

The methodological application is fundamental, helps to have clarity in the planning that must be had so that the students receive the information or are projected.

Suggested activities to learn through children's stories.

The blackboard and the magic words of stimulation.

An activity is proposed for students to develop their language and their ability to communicate orally.

A series of words are placed on the blackboard so that the children can invent a story they already know or want to create, and thus give them more emotion, all the children should intervene.

Example of words, which will be randomly so that children link to each other in their way of interpretation, creation and narration:

The educator should encourage the student to develop their imagination, the ability to see beyond what is written and help them maximize their abilities.

The puppets and the creation of the story.

But, what do children learn through this activity?. It is really encouraging to let the children use their ingenuity to create their own characters and in this way the imagination overflows giving way to autonomy, to finding appropriate words to tell stories, critical thinking and the many skills that this allows to the students to develop.

The children will realize the good and bad actions that occur on the stage with the puppets, absorbing the good of him, because while the children narrate, the educator must explain his words, clarifying the good and bad actions, how fruitful or harmful is the behavior that is shown there and that must be exercised.

The practice helps to reflect on reading and teaching. The most important thing for a teacher is to feel love for what he does.

Being the vehicle that leads students to a learning in values, to the right habit, is rewarding for the educator in his great work.
