Offshore oil well design

This time I want to explain a topic that I have covered before as is the design of wells, however the difference is that this time I will explain some considerations of well design but using offshore drilling rigs and platforms.
Introduction
The design in the drilling and construction of a well must be an important element because the direction that the operations and processes involved may take depend on it, that is why when it comes to the design of wells that are offshore must be taken into account with the same rigor as for land, that is, the geology must be taken into account as it is done on land, however the most important variation in the design is that offshore there is a different environment than on land such as the marine and underwater environment.
Apart from the fact that it is a hostile environment, there are also many elements that make offshore design distinctive compared to onshore well design.
The subsea environment must be very well studied, since the production systems and equipment that will be installed in the well once it is constructed depend on it.
Conceptual phase of offshore well design
From an engineering point of view it is important and very useful to be able to divide well construction design into two parts, one part that is conceptual and one that is somewhat generalized but focuses on taking into account the details of the design.
The conceptual design phase includes simple diagrams that highlight the impact of critical surface and subsurface attributes on the well architecture.
That part of the design is considered conceptual because it is called that in a way because it includes conceptual engineering elements such as surface considerations based on equipment availability based on subsurface geologic demand.
When the conceptual design is expanded and its importance is understood, it is possible to obtain a well architecture according to the demand of the reservoir and everything related to the subsea environment.
Among the other details to consider in the design of offshore oil wells is to consider certain elements that can be considered as well attributes in order to have some alternatives related to the trajectory of the well, the way in which the mechanical elements of the well are configured according to the production requirements.
Conclusion
There are not many elements marked to be considered on land that do not apply offshore, i.e. in an offshore environment the design for the construction of the oil well should consider the same geological elements that are considered on land, however for these marine environments it is important to consider aspects such as logistics that are not the same as on land.

I thought that these platforms were already manufactured and that the country as such only rented them, I remember that in Venezuela a few years ago one of these platforms sank leaving evidence of a great corruption, I think they did not take into account the marine forces in that area and the platform sank.
Hi @carlos84, this is a subject I don't know much about, actually, almost nothing. It's good for me to read this kind of post, because I end up getting at least an idea of what it all entails. I've always wondered how they manage to have that oil dregs in the middle of the sea.
But, it's not something I've studied. My respects.
